FAQ regarding Complete Family Eyecare compliance with state regulations for reopening optometry clinic.

Q.) Will our staff be required to wear masks in clinic?
A.) YES. Dr. Steve and staff are required to wear medical masks, not homemade or other face coverings.
Q.) Will patients be required to wear a face covering?
A.) YES. As per state regulations for optometry clinics, patients will be required to wear masks/face coverings while in the clinic. Medical masks are NOT required so feel free to be creative with your face coverings. Although we have a limited number of medical masks for patients who do not have a face covering, we do ask that you bring your own face covering to help us to conserve on medical masks which are in short supply
Q.) Will patient temperatures be taken?
A.) YES. temperatures will be taken on all patients using a non contact thermometer.
Q.) Will staff be screened on a regular basis?
A.) YES. Dr. Steve and all staff will answer our COVID-19 symptom questionnaire daily and have our temperature taken daily.
Q.) Can patients use the patient lounge or kid’s area?
A.) NO. Patient lounge, kid’s area, coffee and beverage area are closed indefinitely.
Q.) Will there be a maximum number of patients allowed in the optical or the clinic at any given time?
A.) YES, there will be a maximum of 3 patients allowed in the optical at any time. We will also have a secondary optical/glasses fitting area set up in one of our spare exam rooms. We will be limiting patient visits for general examinations and medical visits to two per hour.
Q.) Will patients be moving to multiple exam rooms?
A.) NO. We have three fully equipped exam rooms and patients will be in the same room for their entire examination after pretest exam is completed. All patient contact points will be sanitized after every visit.
Q.) Will common surface areas be cleaned on a regular basis?
A.) YES. We will be disinfecting every common surface area in the clinic every hour and after any patient direct contact. This includes the bathrooms.
Q.) Will patients have to fill out paperwork?
A.) NO. No pens, no paper. We will orally interview for patient history, meds, etc.
Q.) Will the six feet social distance rule be in effect in the clinic?
A.) As much as possible. We have plexiglass barriers in front of the reception desk allowing patients to approach. If the doctor’s examination or fitting of glasses requires physical touching of patient, gloves will be worn. Dr. Steve and staff will wear medical masks at all times.
Q.) Will our optical be open to shop for eyewear?
A.) YES. All frames will be wiped down with alcohol after being touched. We will also be converting an exam room into a secondary optical where glasses repairs and frame selection/measurements can be performed to reduce the number of patients in the main optical.
Q.) Will we be doing eyewear repairs and do I need an appointment for a repair?
A.) YES and NO. We will doing eyewear repairs and you do not need an appointment for a repair. However, if the optical is occupied by more than three patients, you will be asked to wait in your car.
Q.) Will we be seeing children?
A.) YES. We will be seeing children for all types of visits.
Q.) Will we be doing curbside?
A.) YES, Curbside delivery of glasses, contact lenses and glasses repair will remain available indefinitely.
Q.) What if I am considered high risk?
A.) Please notify us if you are over 65 years of age and/or have underlying medical conditions which could be considered high risk for COVID-19 complications.
