It was my privilege to receive the “Star of the North” award from Congressman John Kline for my volunteer work during the Prior Lake Flood of 2014. I haphazardly started a Facebook page which turned into a community tool for correlating relief and sandbagging efforts as well as for sharing pictures and stories during the troubling days of the flood. Being part of that effort was one of my most rewarding experiences – however I hope those services are not needed again!
